I haven't seen a lot of peeps on Sol & riba but it's shown great results in some studies & I think more docs are onboard with this for geno 1a. Wishing you SVR.

I will be starting the sov/riba treatment soon. Im waiting for approval from insurance and my next dr appt in a week and a half. That combo is for genotype 2. Genotype 1 uses olysio. I am super excited about this treatment. The success rate is extremely high with less side effects. I know a few people here have successfully completed treatment with this combo. Are you on this treatment or are you going to be on it?

I have geno 1 so I hope this combo works. I'm going to one of the best liver specialist in Houston so he should know what he's doing (I hope) My insurace wouldn't approve solvadi/olysio combo. So I'm kind of stuck...

Jaro, may I ask what insurance you have? I haven't contacted my gastro yet, due to fear of BC/BS rejecting sov/ oly for my gen 1. I wouldn't be able to handle RIBA or interferon combo. I'd go postal, I'm quite sure of it. Regardless , I wish you the best in clearing! Good luck to you!

Been waiting to hear from you. You will do just fine. Maybe I'll see you at Dr. G's office one of these days. I missed meeting billyvaughn and his wife a few months ago in the transplant center. I took him some papers he had asked for, left them at the desk, because he was already seeing the doctor. Then when I came out, he had gotten the papers and left.

I am on SOV/RIBA started 1200 mg, but lowered temp to 600mg Riba due to anemia.

The Riba is NOT as bad as it was with the INF at all.....

I am on week 5 and waiting for my viral load info to come back.

I am geno 3a and I have to do 6 months....Not thrilled, but want to beat this
I am been seeing so many different things being prescribed and done, but if the end result is that they work - then that is all that matters!!

I have been on each separately.

Sovaldi can cause headaches and fatigue.

Side effects of Riba can cause the following sides depending on dose:

- extreme sun sensitivity that causes rash - wear GOOD sunblock at all times and long sleeves

- insomnia (but you can ask your doc for something to alleviate it)

- nausea " " "

- anemia, shortness of breath & fatigue

- irritability and mood swings

600-800 mgs a day are generally well tolerated. Doses of 1000 to 1200 can cause any or all of theses sides, depending on the person.

Can't start yet, pending lab results & a possible phleb for elevated ferritin levels. Next week I'll be on the tx road again....

Peepers21, Sorry to say I have BC/BS. Have paid for 22 years and my liver specialist sent TWO letters stating why I needed it and still denied so Doc went with Solvadi/Riba combo. I'm still waiting on that approval. Will update when I know more. Don't get too down, just take one day at a time. Good Luck!

I'm on Sovaldi inferno and RIBA. I am on first week and so far tolerable. But the RIBA sides are worse than the interferon. I too am GT 1

I was told last week the Sovaldi is backlogged here in the Northern California Kaiser system, so I wait ... was thought to be starting this week, but it could be until June at this point. Very upsetting since I am a sun lover (I will get Sovaldi paired with Ribavirin - GT-2b).

Zennah, I am GT 2b on 400 mg Sovaldi and 1200 mg Ribavirin. I have sort of documented my TX journey in my journal here, if that will be helpful at all to you. I have 29 days left! :-)

I am a failed G-3 and am on week 3 of 16 with Inf/Riba/Sovaldi. Sx's are the same as the brutal old SOC plus insomnia thrown in for fun!

Get my 4 week VL on the 20th so will know if it is working by the 27th. I am optimistic......

Just found out on SOV/Riba Viral Load went from over 1 million to just 12.
