Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
well friends..i have not had any Sovaldi/Ribavirin since Tuesday .....so this is my 4th day without.
i guess i should confess here , that after my 3 months of tx, i had felt this way all along, sometimes better sometimes, worse......but always , the weak, dizzy feeling.....and shortness of breath etc.
i got to within the last 4 or 5 days of Sovaldi ,to finish and i am so freaking dizzy and weak and ill feeling ( exactly how i felt in the first few weeks of tx, which was due to me being extra sensitive to the Riba, and becoming dangerously anemic , too fast )
so bottom line, i told doc/nurse on Thursday that i had not taken my meds because of extreme dizzy/weakness........i was told to get my final 12 week bloodwork done, that day , instead of the following day ( i was scheduled to have that final test on Oct 2....so , had to do it Oct 1, instead )
as usual with me, ever since they knew how anemic i get, my CBC part of BW, has been done, every single week, and they have a standing order at the Lab for it to be done STAT, so the results will be in within 2-4 hours.
so when it came in , my hemotocrit, hemoglobin, etc, were about the same as the previous week......so the nurse was not concerned and actually she never did comment when i told her i could not take any more pills because of how i feel.
so here i am, even as i struggle to write this, i feel extraordinarily dizzy and scared out of my wits, as to why.

i did go to er yesterday. i am not up to explaining but wanted to tell you.
it was scary as heck.
they did not find anything wrong other than bladder infection
i still have anemia but i guess not bad enough now for anyone to worry
i wish i knew why but i don't
they gave me 4 rx s for nausea dizzy, infection and an anxiety med
more when i can feel up to explainging
It will take a while to recover. As I looked back over my journal notes, even after finishing tx, I ended up in the ER with this every minute on the minute pain in my heart all day long. I had similar symptoms.
Even though the ER doc wanted to keep me overnight, as soon as I found out I didn't have a heart attack and my liver enzymes were ok, I just wanted to go home.
The anxiety Riba brings on us is unreal and can't be described.
Wish they would find something else besides that. I am sure you will be okay in the long run. You have fought a great battle.
I did 24 weeks and today I am thankful it is over and one day soon, you will be grateful also.
