you can go thru the process of getting help with Gilead...it is all starting to change and hard to keep up with process but you could call Gilead and find out what you need to do...If your ins. has denied you, you need to get your doc to submit another appeal and if that is denied then Gilead will help you obtain drug

What was their reason for turning you down?

They turned me down again my Child _pugh is B (in Canada) 1 point off C . The momentum programme denied me .My doc is appealing on compassionate grounds but he doesn`t hold much hope ..it seems they are pretty stuck on having a C c-p score... my meld is 19 .It will cost them way more to transplant and use anti rejection meds than to give one course of Harvoni or the Holkira pack Just doesn`tmake sense to me !!!

Awh, Brigid, I'm so sorry they are being so obstinate with you! Its the game face I think. Keep denying & they'll go away. No way, you'll keep applying!
I don't know the current tide with insurance & hav a roni. I still haven't had my post test (solv/riba) because I moved during open enrollment to another state and got lost in the shuffle. Its ok I can wait.

I am so frustrated to hear this. We spend the last several years trying to stay healthy and now we are being for it. Makes me wanna go eat at Mikky D's for a few months.

Their reason, even though my dr. played up my fatigue, is that my last fibrosure showed level 1. But the one before that showed 2-4. I do feel like i'm being punished for keeping myself healthy. He wrote a letter, but if their criteria is "level 3 and 4 only", I'm not optimistic. Just frustrated and angry. RIght now the thought of applying to Gilead feels overwhelming. I imagine a sea of forms. I'll wait 'til I hear back from the last appeal.

NEVER GIVE UP AND NEVER GIVE IN! And that goes for you too MAK1AH.

Everything is still in a state of flux with priorities shifting from week to week, and even day to day and yet, if you keep at it by re-applying multiple times, and become the biggest PIA towards anyone and, everyone that has influence in getting you the tx you need. You will eventually succeed. And this means getting rid of the sometimes overwhelming negativity which is what they hope(insurance companies) you will eventually succumb to so that you give up and give in.

When I knew I needed a transplant I went through a whole lot of unnecessary anxiety that contributed to worsening my health without me knowing that this was also happening to me but the longer I waited the less stressful I became for some reason and when it finally happened. I had waited almost 4 years after I was originally listed and if you would have told me that I had to wait that long I probably would have lost my mind or maybe even go back out and drinking and drugging again instead but I didn't and I'm so grateful of the second chance I was given.

And knowing that once you reached the darkest hour in your life waiting for the change you need to get out of there, if you have faith that it will get better, and your resolve remains strong, then anyone can get out of the darkest point in their lives and into such a bright atmosphere of hope and positivity.
