Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

MIss Moo Cow did give it some legs so it wasn't in vain. I just checked the site and it is still growing.
The gifts are a small gesture and will help with gas and kitty food , etc but the most important thing is how it can lift Deb's heart to know she has so many pals who really care.
The frightening thing about serious illness is how it isolates us. These tokens are a big "reach out" to a DS pal who has been a very good friend and an amazing support to many here. It's just a little give back.

I hadn't seen her site until seeing her journal post. I thought it was on FB for some reason, which I'm happily not on. She's getting closer to her "bake sale" goal though. Debbear, thanks for all of your HUGE support to the HCV community. Sorry you have to be yet another example of the importance of universal health care for all. I see this often and look forward to the day when this will be a thing of the past. In any case, it takes a village and we want you to keep on truckin.' :-)
