Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. I was in ion 3 with the ribavirin. One month post treatment and still UND. I go back at the end of October for my post treatment 12 week blood draw. Also, my pain is almost gone and my energy is coming back-- finally! I had horrible side effects--debilitating and excruciating plus it caused an auto immune disorder and lots of fatigue. Now at almost two months post treatment I am finally feeling a lot better-- close to normal-- I have even been able to start exercising again and feel some strength coming back. So if it is really gone, then my summer of hell was worth it.

I might survive this after all! They haven't started recruiting yet....
I gave up searching for trials a year ago, because of exclusions to bleeding varices and cirrhosis.

How about a trial for IATROGENIC HCV? Look that one up! It means caused by doctor error! :-)
The only way you can "prove" HCV was acquired nosocomial is with a judgement against the hospital/doctor. Otherwise, it's a he-said, she-said scenario.
