The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

i am very interested in the side effects and if u feel better overall, after treatment as opposed to before also if u dont mind which medical drugs u r doing exactly

Thanks, IMKramer. Am just getting my first toehold up climbing up into the clinical trials realm, the ins and outs, and the article's of service.
Thus far, I notice it's often a One Trial Only Per Lifetime offer ("naive" only), so the choice needs to be sharp.
Where to find them ? Thus far, I'm monitoring CT, clinicaltrials.gov -- & I'm phoning pharma companies to leave a message expressing interest in being enrolled.
(This, while waiting for biopsy to indicate whether this month's fibrosure (0.65) indicates if I have time to wait, or if I'm Stage 3 and so might be enrolled in triple therapy rather than wait.) And, yes, am looking for a local hepatologist to provide a second opinion before I make any Next Step.
Having played Watch & Wait for 20 years, I feel like I'm on a merry-go-round, and this time around I might catch the brass ring (such as a great clinical trial), or miss the ring but still get off the merry-go-round intact (inft therapy without compromising sides) and all for the better, finally

Good Luck :) I have been locked in to the same clinic here in San Antonio Tx for about 3 1/2 years and through 4 Tx/trial attempts. One thing I did from the beginning ...and after each failure...was to be persistent and aggressive for treatment. Showing complete dedication to beating this thing and befriending the staff as much as I could. They are great people to begin with and it wasn't very hard :) There are so many people trying to get in...that IMHO...if you make it a point to call them every week or 2...they will remember you and your name when trials come up. All IMHO

LopLop - it's true many trials are for tx naives... but trials are not limited to "One Trial Only Per Lifetime". I'm involved in a study and am expecting to be offered another trial soon.
