Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I've just learned I've had hepatitis for the past 8 years and now it's at the chronic stage. I was in a car accident which took away my ability to provide for myself and have been fighting with the state of Florida for disability for a few years now. So my dilemma is, I don't have a job and cannot afford any doctors, I go to state clinics but they just give me referrals to specialists that I cannot afford. I'm 32 years old I don't drink or do drugs and I don't want to die but everything I do ends up being an expensive dead end and I don't know what to do or who to turn to. I don't need a transplant I just need the medication as far as I can tell. Please help
Don’t give up hope. Ask all your doctors, write to medical pharmaceutical companies for compassionate program, have doctor office advocate for you.
It is a CRIME that anyone today should have to suffer no treatment now we have good effective treatments that won’t kill you.
