Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

Sovaldi/Galexos(Olysio) off label combo approved!
My insurance is good to go. Jannsen and Gilead are eating the copay!
Hospital Nurse called happy and excited for me. Drugs should ship next week.
She clarified 4 weeks needs to show good viral response (around 15 iu) to continue.
Medicinal MJ is okay, no conflicts.
Got my boarding pass and cleared customs. Sitting on the tarmac and waiting for the adventure to begin!
Going to stockpile a week before I start in case of delivery disruptions
Gilead and Jannsen were wonderfully helpful.
Totally happy guy here.

Congratulations!!!
I am on Sovaldi and Riba 1200 mg.
I am on day 5 - so far, so good....

Actually I have one week extra, just turned out that way and it does ease the mind.

Just realized I have to mark my calendar so I go for my labwork when necessary....I have a long haul, 6 months for me.

Great news Kramer. Things are moving along for a lot of people. You'll be really dancing in the streets when you get your 4 wk VL. Thanks for clarifying the response expectation.

Lovefall, 6 mo. is a long time but it's doable so hang in there. I'm so glad you are not on IFN as well.

Everyone's going to be clear & living their lives free of HCV. Might be a much smaller support group when I start in the fall. That's ok. After all I've been through I think 12 wks of S&L might feel like a walk in the park. Here's hoping.

Oh, YES! Wonderful news, kramer. You sure did clear customs having MMJ okayed! Wish I had somma dat for my Sovaldi headache. ::~)

Stockpiling is smart - the only way to go.

You've got some of us well into the tx (I think WG is almost done), so anything that comes up, we've probably experienced it. My headache started around week 3 and got serious around week 5. Small price to pay (as long as I don't blow an aneurysm) for the sheer miracle that Sovaldi is for our livers.

I echo that, aal. And you know that your doc is waiting for Sovaldi/Ledipasvir for you because no one wants you to "fail" tx again (although IT failed YOU). That one pill combo is almost fail-proof! We'll be around whenever you get started. Hang in there - your doc. is being very cautious, but you know this. Even so, yes, probably kinda hard to watch so many of us doing the Sovaldi Shuffle already. You are awesome to be hanging here with us even though your ship has entered the harbor but not quite pulled up to the docks.

Rock on. I'd stash at least two weeks. Until you get the second shipment or they call to confirm where you want it shipped then you know it coming and your in the system. It took me a month to get all that figured out. My ins wanted to use their own pharmacy which is their right. The one my doctors office uses was dragging their feet since there wasn't anything in it for them. Good luck peace.

Thanks dragonars .yes it seems it's the sensible thing to do and yes all the pharmacies are greedy for the business. Jannsen, Gilead, The Hospital all have pharmacists trying to scoop the Rx ...scary! Big $$$ for them.
I'll be stockpiling a good week to ten days worth. Nurse thinks that's wise too!

A very happy day for me to finally get moving. Hey it was four years ago almost to this very day that I started Interferon! Bound to have an easier and more successful time this time :)

Thank you oOo :) Yes i will be stockpiling for sure. I remember a few close calls running out of Interferon (not that it would have made any difference in my case ..lol)
