LadyG, If she's taking incivek, she HAS to eat at least 20 grams of fat 3 x day, before she takes her pills, and it's 8-9 hrs apart. I started at 5:30 am (btwn 5:30-6), and ended around 9:30-10pm because I couldn't stay awake. Is she reluctant to come on this site herself?
a few suggestions: scrambled eggs w/tbls cream, & pc of toast w/butter.
Oatmeal made w/cream & milk & pat of butter.
Lunch: hamburger, blt w/mayo, lots of choices there.
I had a big salad or soup for dinner, and ice cream w/a cookie later for my last 2 inciv. pills.
If she's taking incivek she's going to have to give up the low fat diet for 12 wks. The meds need the fat to go to the liver. You need some fat with the ribavirin too, but not as much. We have a 'NEWBIE CORNER' with alot of advice & tips.
You sound like a good friend & roomate, and welcome to DS. She should check us out herself though. It's very helpful & supportive here.
Sugar is inflammatory and can contribute to insulin resistance and studies have shown insulin resistance lowers one's chances of clearing the virus.
I'd also avoid precessed food but that would be my recommendation to anyone, on treatment or not.
Good luck! Your roommate is lucky to have a good friend on her side

One does do whatever they can. Desperate times truly require desparate measures.
I ate anything I could hold down. The cravings were like pregnancy. One day something is great, the next it's awful. Eat what you like. Even if it's gross....=)
Do what feels good and comfortable. Finding ANY comfort while on triple therapy is so important. Eating softer foods helped because the inside of mouth and gums get ultra sensitive.
Once the Incivek pills are completed, I guarantee there will NOT be a desire nor wish to look at pretty much anything consumed during those 12 weeks. At least for 2-3 weeks.....lol some foods I just cannot do again..... Almond butter love it.......but No more.
Bkfst sausage.... Now... Yuk.
Weeks 13 and beyond, eat as your liver and your body depends on it, because; it does.
Best wishes

I'm a member there and solid info comes from that site as well as DS.
Good post.
It's clear to anyone who's been here for more than a week that you have disdain for me. You've claimed to have put me on ignore, you've encouraged others to do so, you've referred recently to my posts as 'katcrap' and you've you've boasted about having reported to me ds. I'd bet you reported me so many times that DS put you on 'ignore' ...hahaha.
We couldn't be more different intellectually, morally, philosophically... so again I ask, why not just let me be? Why do you keep singling me out and mentioning my name?
