Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

Had another bad day today, so bad I had to leave work at lunch time. Started of with be puking out the car door going to work this morning. By the time I got to work the exhaustion set it. I mentioned to my boss aroung 8:45 that I was really sick and need to go home. She told me to try it for an hour and see how I feel. I was so pissed I just walked out of her office shaking my head. I know they have been good to me letting me go to part time hours but, I can't predict when I am going to have even worse days then the ones I am off aready. If I could that would make it real easy. I told her when we discussed going to part time that I couldn't promise I wouldn't take any other time off cause you just don't know when it is going to hit you really bad. By the way she wanted me to "promise" her I wouldn't take any other days off. I realize they are trying to run a business (as she put it) but, I am trying to save a life, MINE!!!

lol.....yea save u're on life...yea all they care about is there production,,of work...hey just wear a puke bag around u're neck and let it stink as u walk around they'll get the idea...........take care now..i feel u're pain went through 3 tx's..

Hey bestshot , They don't understand unless they experience it themselves! Heck I have folks living with me who try as they may they don't get it but they support me anyway. Bosses are different, they can only support so much or they get canned. Hang in and do your bet as that is all you can do.
Will keep you in my prayers and ask for you strength and stamina and less pain.

Treatment really is a roller coaster! What kind of work is it? Is it a small company?

Hi Gotahorse, It is a small company about 15 of us at this office which is the head office. I work in the admin dept. and have been for almost 15 years.

Wow. Can you get on disability or that FAML - I'm not sure what it's called... others on here know. I never threw up at all. I had the flu-like sx w/aches, pains, fever, etc. first 2 or 3 mos. I wouldn't have been able to work on some days. I only work p/t seasonal and we don't get busy until June, so I had it pretty easy.
I feel bad for you. Are you in the beginning of tx? If so, you could tell your boss that it should (hopefully for you) get better after a couple of months. That isn't always the case, but it generally seems to get more tolerable once your body gets used to it. Are you on anything for the vomiting? Others on here also get sick to their stomachs too. Dalismuse is one.
I can't even imagine how horrible it must be...

Hi Peaceful, I am 22 weeks into it and it has been a struggle the whole time. Almost half way there though. As for the vomitting, that doesn't happen often. Today has been the worse for that. I can't go on disability now cause it wouldn't give me enough money to live on.

I feel for you - I remember staring at my desk all day telling myself to finish just one thing - are you taking something for nausea? from this site I learned about zofran - I took it every day while on incivek - it was a God send - I don't think any decent doctor should let anyone start Tx without a script for nausea meds - also - I suggest rest rest rest - when I got home - I would lie down and maybe didn't take my coat off till 8 - I stayed full time (if you want to call it that) but was late a lot of days - after I got ready I had to rest for about 30 min to an hour - I went to the store on wed or thur - before shot night - the weekends were spent sleeping and staring at tv - figure out what works for you - I ironed two pair pants and five shirts that took all day sun - but made getting ready easier - I wish you all the best

Well, then all you can do is your best. I hope you have fewer & fewer crummy days. 15 yrs is a long time. They should be more tolerant & understanding.
so do you understand the 'virtual' parties we have? The fun is in the planning, dreaming, ridiculousness, fantasizing of it all.

Thanks everyone. Hi Peaceful, no I am just not grasping the concept of Friday shot nite. Probably just other thinking it. Maybe if I feel up to it I will just sit it tomorrow night and see how it goes. Well it's pill time and nite nite time for me now. Wishing you all a good nite sleep!!!

Are you just starting your tx or have you been on them for a while now? I'm starting tx in Nov. and still need to work. Hopefully I can get thru the days. Good luck to you.
