The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

Hello all my DS friends. I haven't posted in a while but I come here often to see how everyone is doing. So sad to see so many new ppl. I have a question for old and new here. Seems since I had stopped tx last Oct, things haven't been right for me. Not sure if it is due to tx or from the percecet problem I had if you remember that. I haven't had a perc since that horrible day in January you will be pleased to know. Now like I mentioned things haven't been right for me since then. My head seems very screwed up. I can't seem to think straight most of the time and my words are constantly getting lost in my head. Makes for a very strange conversation. I am so tired!!!!!! When I get home from work I pretty much flop of the couch and that's it. My husband cooks for me and cleans most of the time. I'm not just a little tired I am exhausted beyond belief. I try to watch tv and fall asleep every time in the middle of a show. Then when I go to bed usually have to take something to help me sleep but I do get a good nights sleep. Doesn't matter though but the time I get home from work it's the same thing as the night before. I also feel very disassociated from everyone. Like I have nothing to talk about or say to them. That is one of the reasons I stopped coming on here. I know you are thinking I need anti depressants but I already take them. Just want to know if anyone else out there has been feeling this way as well and how you are coping with it. Thanks for listening.

i feel the same to some degree, and i never did treatment. physical activity, and proper diet and lifestyle is the best i can advise

Deb it's the Interferon. Some recover quickly, others take longer. There's not much you can do about it other than to recognize your limited capacity for the time being, be good to yourself in every way an keep pushing through.
Keep a log of the good days cause it's easier to notice the bad ones. That helps me.

I am 22 weeks into tx so that is how i feel plus some, and i have heard enough voices here to know that i can expect it to continue for some time after tx (some have said 3 years... yikes),,,,, depressing i know, but slowing down, paying attention to what supports optimal health and doing it, and accepting what is (hard i know) can bring moments of peace, joy, love... all those things that make life worth living

HCV made me feel that way, interferon made it worse. The treatment didn't work for me so now what you are describing is simply my normal.

im just kiddin ya. i felt like hammered hell for two years after my last tx attempt. general fatigue, brain failure. it gets better. my vision is probably better right now than it was pre tx. amazing what a little windex will do for your monitor screen..

Ha, I do laugh more now that I have hep C and am in treatment--- not sure if it is that or the DS crew that gets credit for that! Thanks for all for the humor, advise AD VISE a-d-v-i-s-e and especially, the kiddin....

You've been through a lot! With the tx, the percs, and then the tx not working, it's tremendous!

It took me up to a year to clear the brain fog, and to deal with my depression. Yeah...lingering sides from tx. I went into therapy post tx for about two years. I thought I was going crazy. My counselor kept me grounded and taught me how to deal with what was going on in my life. Give yourself some time.

I can so relate I have not done the treatment since early last year and I am now having such a difficult time with my brain fogging up I can not think it takes me forever to speak what I am thinking I cannot write properly any longer in that my handwriting has changed drastically it is like my mind knows what I want to write but between my brain and fingers it gets lost. I am also recently beginning to have really bad tremors in my arms and hands.
Also have NO get up and go my drive is gone I am disabled and I hate it but I can not function as I sleep days and nights in a row.
Please do not feel alone.

i dont know if my " drive " has ever returned or not. the last female around here was a home health aid who im pretty sure cannibals would reject. she tried to slip me a date rape drug. i faked a coma for the next ten hours..
oh well. my ambien wore off, somebody wake up and entertain me damnt !!

Hi Deb! CONGRATS on kicking the percs! I ended tx in dec and still have brain fog to one degree or another most of the time. Its getting better. I am also tired alot. Doesn't sound like I am as tired as you describe but still tired. It's tough though. Like Becky said I feel like im going crazy at times. But its gettin better! You may also want to speak to your doc about the fatigue!

Thank you for all your advice!!!! advise!!! The last thing on my mind right now it my spelling or grammar!! I think that is why I tend to keep to myself these days. I am glad to know I am not alone and others are feeling the same. Oh that sounds bad!!! I'm sorry others feel the same but glad you are there to give me advice. I can't help but feel tx ruined my life as well as the perc's, just not sure which one did the most damage. I am thinking of changing hep dr.s . Not sure the one I am seeing is doing much for me. Feel like I have been let slip through the cracks again. Still waiting to find out if I should have the hep a & b shots. Time to go to work now. Have a great day.

Debbie not much going on in Toronto with all oral trials so we just have to sit tight, be good to ourselves in the meantime. Congrats on the Perc cessation. I finally got off the Oxy!
