Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
It's amazing to finally see Boceprevir get FDA approval. I was one of the guinea pigs in those trials and it's a great feeling to see something positive come out of that. Boceprevir was no fun and I'm pretty sure everyone in our community knows that it's not a free pass. But still, it's an amazing step forward and I think the future is looking better all the time.
Many of my good friends on DS have been bravely fighting and waiting for this stuff. I pray that it will make a huge difference for them!

+ The fact that you get undetected so fast is great for the spirit
+ That actually let me get more exercise, which reduced fatigue
+ It seemed like itching and skin probs were less
- The anemia was worse
- The weird tastes were worse
- The Bo schedule is really strict because they are afraid of mutations. So you must take this stuff every 8 hours and that causes a lot more stress than you might think.
