Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
Tears? tears in the fabric?
lol English is complicated.
No you can't get HCV from wiping a crying friends face.
As the regimens get even simpler and shorter, it will truly matter less and less though. It will be like treating chlamydia or something. Some have had it for so long and have had to deal with awful symptoms or even live in fear of the disease. The collective mindset will change though as tx changes and less have active disease. Imagine that. Is this where I add again that they really need HCV tx in a morning after pill?
I am HCV, my partner is not.
Both our Dr.s advice was there was no need to use condoms as we are monogamous and can't remember a time we needed a bandaid after intimacy.
12 years in a great relationship with lots and lots of intimacy. IT's a no brainer that if you are into rough stuff then the rules change.
I'm sure you'd bandage each other if needed. Soon though, and maybe already, it wouldn't be crucial. Cool!
We really never know for absolute certain if there is even a miniscule tear (like rip, Kramer, lol) in/on our sex organs. And if both partners have that going on - or if one does and the other sustains a small tear during sex - and one partner has HCV, it would stand to reason that the virus would be transmitted one to the other during sex - all it takes is one iota of contaminated blood. I'm glad I'm long past the multiple sex partners thing. If I was still into that, I'd be super cautious.
All that said, Kramer is right - just walking around your house can be dangerous - slipping, falling, cracking a hip (at my age - very bad thing to happen). We all take risks just being alive. I used to take so many risks it scares (yes, "skeers", ecc) me to think about it - freaks me out. I am so lucky to be still alive.
One of the reasons I am like a hawk when I take my little girl to the ladies room and I always always take heaps of tissues and a tube of hand sanitizer.
Lucky you men don't bleed eh?
Happy not to bleed anymore thanx to my implant. I have been grossed out by my own blood since diagnosis.
