I'm just sitting here thinking about how close I am to starting treatment. I will know more on Thursday when I see the dr. I'm excited, yet so nervous. I'm worried about the fatigue of taking RIBA. I am 35 and have a 2 year old. I'm always tired already. I even take two hour naps during he day when she is napping. I know this is from the hep c. I just worry about not having any energy. We love being outdoors. Summer is just around the corner. Ugh, I'm anxious. I want to be able to do things with my daughter. I want her to enjoy herself and have fun swimming in the pool and going to the park. I keep reminding myself its 12 weeks. I can do it. I'm just scared. I'm also very scared of becoming depressed. I'm probe to depression. I will try to remember to talk about this w my dr.

Congrats on starting. May you be successful and be conferred with many healthy years to spend ahead. You have valid concerns about sides but you won't know how it will be until you start. Love and support and critical thinking on how to get through your daily activities will facilitate. Keep in touch with your Dr. for medical support and intervention if need be. Twelve weeks compared to fifty one is doable. Good journey.

You can do this! I am almost done. It has been a challenge, but it's doable. You just have to pace yourself, not overdo, and nap when your baby naps. My son is older, but is like having a 2 year old at times, I swear. He has autism and some other disabilities, so I totally get the fear. My energy is low, I won't lie, but as I move on in treatment, it's gotten better. Sunscreen well, pace yourself, afternoon or early morning trips to shady parks with playgrounds, splash pool in backyard, where you can sit in lawn chair and relax under umbrella, and kiddo can splash around. You adjust and will make it work. My biggest problem was not depression, but anxiety. I am more a Type A person, so that may have something to do with how it affects a person, I don't know. Maybe your doc can adjust the Riba so that you can manage if it's too much. Don't be afraid. You will be doing this for both yourself and your child so that she can have mommy for a long, long time to come. One summer of sacrifice is worth it. 2 year olds don't know what they are missing anyway. They just want to be with mommy, even if it's just hanging out on mommy's bed with her, brushing mommy's hair and putting stickers on her. :-).

vatta - given your YOUTH (your young age), I really think you are going to sail right through this! I take an anti-depressant AND an anti-anxiety med. Don't hesitate to ask your doctor for whatever you may need. Once you are through this tx, I am sure you will have ALL your energy back and then some. Having a 2-year old has to be exhausting even if you're in the best of health. Maybe someone can help you out a bit each day - watching her while you take needed naps? If not, yep, when she naps, you nap. You'll be just fine! 12 weeks is nothing. I'm 5 days away from end of treatment - 12 weeks Sova/Oly - the time has flown by.

Do you have any support? Is someone around to help if you have more fatigue during treatment? I would try to keep thinking how the summer's to come will be so much more enjoyable with lots of energy, and Hep C behind you.I would feel sad to about giving up a summer with a 2 year old too, but she is young and they love anything at that age. she will not really know Mommy is not feeling to well, and this way you will assured of being around and healthy for her in the future. It has been 25 years since I had a two year old, but I remember napping, just because that in it self is tiring. Best of luck to you. PS When I did treatment with interferon/ Riba I started a anti-depressant 6 weeks before I started treatment, it seemed to help me. But everyone is different, and Dr.'s have different ideas. I love reading this board and it is always here 24 hours a day, It helps me get through all my health problems and keep my spirits up. It's nice to not feel all alone, going through treatments and such.
