I have been divorced for four years now.......never been happier.
However, I am curious, should I be informing my ex about me having Hep C? I am hoping not to but I feel if necessary then I will do what is right.

I personally believe that it's the right thing to do and other folks may disagree... But, I would like to think that if the situation was in reverse, the person infected would do the right thing and inform me as well...

Look, chances are that she will test negative... However, if later on down the road in the journey of life she's informed about being infected for quite some time then, it would be a real mess as an understatement! Would you want your ex-wife to do that to you???

Do you get along well with him or do you think he would spread rumors etc. Consider if he will use this information against you or not.
By all means though, he should be checked.

I would tell her................I was with my x 23 years and didn't have it........but I think the x should be told...............can't hurt to get tested:)

Thanks for the advice, I have called and left a message for HER to call me when she gets a chance. My only hesitation with it is she is a vendictive bitch. In our marriage, nobody beat anyone and nobody cheated, we just grew apart and fought a lot. it was too much for me after 18 years of fighting. I just dont trust her not to use it to put a wedge between my daughter and I. However, I see all of your points and regardless of how big bitch she is, she deserves to know.

IMHO, I would wait until you have more information on your own diagnosis, ie; genotype, ultrasound, etc before you share with your ex. My inner gut tells me, if she is vindictive, this may be a bad call this soon. Your second to last sentence/ "driving wedge" speaks volumes.

All babyboomers should be tested regardless. HCV is not an STD unless you're into "True Blood" style lovemaking ..lol
