It didn't change my mind about staying clean. FYI
He could not have found out at a better time with the new drugs that are so successful, he will be cured very quickly.
I have about 25 years sober and clean.. I did a lot of stuff - a lot, they didn't think they could help me or even take me in (the place I went to get clean). They thought I needed more intense treatment., so I know what I am talking about.
I also did NOT want any visitors or to talk with anyone. I wanted to focus on getting better - that was it. NO outside world in there.
It is the time he needs to focus on why he does drugs and what he needs to do to stop forever.
He will be getting very intense treatment, not just getting off drugs, but the mind stuff as to why he needs to do the drugs, not just addiction. There is a reason we choose to do drugs, to feel normal or to escape from life or past experiences.
Once he is clean and sober, then a Hep Doctor or Gastro Doc will be able to get him the medication he needs to clean out the Hep C. He will make it......He has time......
First he has to focus on recovery (from drugs and alcohol)
God Bless
He has you in his life still and that is a major thing!! Get yourself in AL-Anon. Don't know if you use or not, but my Hubby joined so he knew how to help me. It helped him a lot as he got sick with me, not from drugs but from all the stuff I had been doing, it messed him up emotionally.
We don't know how to treat addicted people or act around them. You have to learn or find out.
As far as sending him back to using. If he truly wants to quit he will!
The new TX is sweet compared to the old triple TX. The rate of cure is HIGH!
Will keep you both in my prayers.
