Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
HI everyone, Its been a few months since I last visited DS. I see some of the old familiar names are still here. Its great to know that people still are wiling to help others by sharing info and experiences..
I am here to report that after completing the 48 week harmony last summer I am still Hep C free. It wasn't necessary but the doctor had me do one more PCR test to prove it. It came back this week negative as expected.
Everything looks good. Doc said I don't have to go back to see him for another year. Will have Abdomen CT scan and blood work done every six months to keep on top of things should they take a turn for the worse.
Since completing treatment I have been amazingly feeling much better. My strength and endurance has been notcilably improved. No aches and pains and feeling like crap. Today I can report that I feel like I'm ten years younger.
Looking forward to retiring in a few years to spend more time with my three granddaughters and traveling around the world.
Still bicycling and working out to keep up as age sets in.

I admire that you are so active and that is what I need to get going.
I have back issues with a lot of pain, so when I do get out, I pay for it later, but I keep pushing as I don't want to live in this house.
Congrats!! It helps for all the others struggling to hear this great news over and over again!! i also have to go in for 6 months bloodwork, but that is fine with me!!
