Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

Hi gang,
I haven't been here for a while. Needed some space from everything. Been having a pretty rough go of it and other things as well. Hoping to be more social soon. Hope everyone else is doing as good as they should be

I keep telling myself that treatment will not last forever, but sometimes a few days can feel like months.

bestshot, here's hoping you get a good report about your treatments. I'll be starting soon for the first time ever, 2 years after transplant. Gotta take the standard double tx. All of you give me inspiration and hope. Please keep in touch. Marilyn

Yes hope it's salvageable. As much as we hate or dislike it we want to finish it and finish it good. Update please.

Marilyn I'm glad ur only having to do SOC. That's a lot as it is. It's actually way better physically than I thought it would be but it does change your life profoundly. They all kept saying it's temporary for a reason. It basically is no fun but it really is temporary. I only recently saw that. It wears on your mind and your life. It's doable though but you really need to call on your support system and then call on them again when they don't give you all the support that you had hoped for. Some may surprise you though but people have a hard time getting this in your real life. They also might erroneously think that you've had a hepatic txp so you can do this easily. I hope you're blessed with friends that truly make themselves available. That you tell them we know you'll need support because we all did.
