Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I'm not looking forward to treatment number 3.
I hope it is better than the last two.
Hope it gets better for both of you very soon!
I'm sensitive to all meds, too. A 200mg ibuprofen is enough for me to get through anything. In a way, its good, we don't need as much but when the starting therapeutic dosage is high, we struggle.
I do not perceive you as whining, at all. Just stating the facts as you experience them.
The main thing is that it WORKED!! I did 2 past attempts at treatment, so I was thrilled to see this work
I have had the brain fog (it really is awful) Pray it gets better....
All that poison has to be flushed out of our systems.....
Just keep posting and as Trish said, it does help!!
On top of the heatwave & all those appts, I was doing my utmost to be prepared for the Annual Garage Sale in my new neighborhood. I didn't sleep but 3or4 hours the night b4 the Sale, was so frazzled, fried, you name it, but our customer-base here is so friendly & kind, it helped a lot ... But ... and a HUGE BUT ... I've been wiped out since the Sale on Saturday ended. Was in recliner all day Sun&Mon, and now today, all I've been able to do is get most of the dishes that had piled in the sink over into the dishwasher (grateful I have one).
I went to go get my First RNA-update, as it's the end of 4th week as of Saturday, but they didn't have it on file (Drs offices are so overloaded anymore, I don't let these things get to me - she said she'd faxed it, they lost it, but she'd sent me backups in the mail), so I'm good from here on to end of 12th week come 8/8 for me), so I had to come back home to get my paper copy. Meant to do 2 other things while in town, but NOPE - forgot all about whatever it was.
Brain Fog and Fatigue are the worst of my symptoms, as well. I eat a very heart-body-mind healthy food-plan & have for many years, for the most part. I also was walking nearly every single day for at least 1 mile (about 1/2 an hour), which really was helping kick my days off much better, but since last week was so disrupted by so many appointments early in the day, and a change back to cold-foggy mornings as of Sunday ... well, I hope I feel up to walking tomorrow, I keep saying to myself.
Because walking in the mornings is "for me" so much better than hanging out on Facebook for 2-4 hours or all day sometimes when I didn't feel good - which addiction lasted 5 full years, and I'm finally not missing it at all - it took a good month to put it completely down & not run to it every single morning .... Now, my only purpose for going to FB is to check Events/What's Happening types of things for when I feel up to it in the future.
And I do so hope you're eating well, too, (lots of fruits & veggies & fish, plus drinking plenty of water, cuz that is what has really been making me feel less of the side-effects during all this, cuz I saw the difference on day of Sale when I wasn't eating right at all, & not getting nearly enough liquids; so the price I'm paying for getting off my healthy routine is just so debilitating!
Thank you for letting me vent a little, too, while trying to let you know that you're definitely not alone. I have heard it takes awhile after the meds are finished to get totally back to rights, so I just hope by my 61st Birthday in September, about 5 1/2 weeks after Tx is over, that I feel up to a much needed trip away from my in-home hospital!
Hugs - Zennah
I found if I didn't eat sugar, salt and fats/fried stuff and drank a lot of water, I felt a whole lot better. And that applies to me know, 2 months post tx.
My body is super sensitive to meds also.
