Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
Any pointers?
She was excited about the new drugs coming up (back in Oct '13), and I am sure she will be mentioning them to me as I told her I do NOT want interferon, and prolly not Riba either.
To recap:
I am 34/35 yrs old.......Hep C 1A for about 31/32 years.......treatment naive......ultrasound in Nov '13 showed only that I have gallstones and a dilated kidney.......blood work all within range.......no biopsy......never tested for IL28B.......VL in 2011 was over 1 mil.......I am on an antidepressant and high BP diuretic......terrible fatigue, dizzy, memory loss, vision is like looking through "TV snow"......vaccine for the flu and Hep A, but not B (didn't complete).....BMI in the normal range.......have federal/state insurance, if that helps
If I forgot anything, feel free to ask. Thanks in advance for any ideas on what to ask or tell my Hep Doc next week. I will keep you posted.

Ribavirin, if you want to treat right now.
The Interferon is the one that makes depression worse. Your Doctor can include your History of depression, as the criteria of why you cant treat with the Interferon, and they can add the Olysio as the alternative Med.
I know a few people that are currently treating with the Sovaldi/Olysio/Riba combo, and a couple of them are on federal/state Insurance. Good luck, and keep us posted.
