Hello everybody,

Well today was my annual visit to my Hep B specialist Dr. My blood lab result came out the same as usual. My Ultra Sound is also the same too. My Hep B is in a suppress stage for over 2 or 3 yrs now which is good. The only thing is that my body isn't building it's own anti to fight off the Hep B. So that's why I am still taking medication. Good news is that I am ok, but bad news is that I still have to be on medication which I've been hoping to get off. But overall I am healthy. I was also told I have a small % chance to spreading this virus which is also great news. I can also have a normal life like every one else. Once again, I'm still trying to be positive, eat right, exercise, and live my life to the fullest. It's been over 16 to 17 yrs fight now. So if I can still be here till this day everyone else should also have hope too, Do not ever give up....

how old are you may i ask. And when were you diagnois with hep b...and how do you deal with down days.

I found out I had Hep B when I was about 19/20 yrs old. I am now 36 soon to be 37 in a few months. As a young age not knowing this disease and without much resources, it was hard. But since I am still alive till this day I few years ago I snap out of the depression stage and realize there is hope and life out there. The down days? Well first you try not to think about it or talk about it. You have to be positive and tell yourself that you are healthy and normal. Why think it's the end of the world when you are still ticking and there are treatment that doesn't do you any harm. I know it sucks to take the pill everyday, but I try not to think about it and move forward. I look forward to seeing the sun rise/set every day. And that's what I want in my life...

Thanks for the quick response...I'm 41 a young 41,,lol..had my first child at 39 yrs and was tested positive for Hep B...I believe I may have contracted this as a child through vacination.

As a child in the Primary School in my country in the late 70's and early 80's I clearly remember mass vacinations and the nurses at the time were using the same needles on every child. I think it was much later that OSHA regulations were implemented in my country.

I get tested periodically ON MY OWN and I pay for LFT and KFT and ultrsounds out of pocket. The laboratory test indicates whats normal so its somewhat self explanatory. However, I receive no guidance from any specialist.

For the pass 20 months i've been experiencing upper left and most recently right quadrant pain I got an ultrasound in April 2012 and was diagnose with costrochondritist as a result of my pregnancy and my ribs expanding (thats according to the doctor's diagnosis) . I can't help but think that its my liver thats the problem I am very concern, the pain is dull and quite persistant but tolerable. But its draining me mentally.

What would you recommend I do to put my mind at ease.

A Ultra Sound doesn't really tell you much from the outside. It's a Liver Biopsy that you might need to do to know how your liver is.
