Hepatitis B virus infection may either be acute (self-limited) or chronic (long-standing). Persons with self-limited infection clear the infection spontaneously within weeks to months. There are currently several treatments for chronic hepatitis B that can increase a person's chance of clearing the infection.

Just want to share some news. Some of you may already know about my symptom. But you guys also don't know that my mom also have this Hep B virus and she's about 64 yr old. I've been on this long journey with her since I was in my teen. Yesterday was her yearly visit and everything went well. Some other doctor's visit I don't know much about, but yesterday visit I spoke with the her doctor a bit. If I recall my mom first medication she was on is Lamivudine "Epivir" about close to 20 yrs ago or longer, that's the same medication that I am on today. After a few years her symptom was failing and she got ill. She made the decision to go under study to be on Hepsera "Adefovir"; This study drugs was not approved by FDA if I recall in the early 1995 - 2000's. After a few years it was approved and my mom was off the study and is on Hepsera till now. As of yesterday they wanted to switch her to Viread. As the doctor explain to me that Hepsera is an older drugs which in long term the may not be effective and Viread is a new drug which works better now. I also ask about my coming decision in Nov that I am deciding to get off Lamivudine and go under a new study at NIH. I brought up that questions that I was told if I'm on Lamivudine in long term I may get cancer down the road. The doctor stated that it's not the drugs, it's both drugs and virus in long term which may cause cancer. Maybe that's why my doctor want me to get off and see how I do. But that's another topic. What I'm trying to get to some of you here on this forum is that my mom is in her 60's and I am 37 now, and it's been a long journey. I want to share this so that you guys know you have a life, future and many more things down the road. It's not the end of the world if you have this virus. You are not a bad person or a monster. My mom will always be my mom and in her eyes I am her only son. No matter what virus, disease or cancel we are human. Don't ever look down upon yourself and let other treat you wrong. You have to keep your head up, be positive, love others and keep fighting.

I had my yearly visit with my specialist this past monday. Everything went well with my health. I brought up the topic about what NIH was offering me to be under a new study. The study is for me to get off my medication and see how I react. I've been on Lamivudine "Epivir" for over 10 to 15 plus years now. My doctor gave me the ok to go under the study. I'll be seeing my other doctor at NIH in about two weeks. So I'll go on from there and hope the best that I do not need to be on treatment again. I'll update in about two weeks after my other visit.
I use it sometime to cook my food, but I don't think it's a cured.

I hope it works out well for you as it sounds like you have been on meds for a long time. I truly hope you recover as I do for everyone with this
I'm no doctor but I have heard alot of people have had some amazing results using this stuff.
Also there has been research on this style of technology . Apparently its what inspired Beck technology.
