Hemochromatosis is a hereditary disease characterized by improper processing by the body of dietary iron which causes iron to accumulate in a number of body tissues, eventually causing organ dysfunction. It is the main iron overload disorder. Hemochromatosis is notorious for having symptoms that are often initially misattributed to other diseases.
MRI scans are used to check the health of your liver and the amount of iron deposition that you may have in your liver.
Not sure why they may want a second one so quickly, as I thought that the MRI was an all seeing scan, but I guess that they may just be being on teh safe side and checking from a different angle.
