Hemochromatosis is a hereditary disease characterized by improper processing by the body of dietary iron which causes iron to accumulate in a number of body tissues, eventually causing organ dysfunction. It is the main iron overload disorder. Hemochromatosis is notorious for having symptoms that are often initially misattributed to other diseases.

I have not had to change my diet since I am trying to get my ferritin back to normal, Later I image that I will just be giving blood a could time a year to keep it under control.

Large meals are not a good idea. Avoid simple carbohydrates and keep salt at 2g per day.
