Hemochromatosis is a hereditary disease characterized by improper processing by the body of dietary iron which causes iron to accumulate in a number of body tissues, eventually causing organ dysfunction. It is the main iron overload disorder. Hemochromatosis is notorious for having symptoms that are often initially misattributed to other diseases.

Lord have mercy. I feel like I fell out of a 4th story window and somehow lived. It's normally not this bad but every now and then it gets so bad that I can't do anything.

All fingers on both hands, left hip, left elbow. Then there's these weird little myalgias all over. My sinuses are hating it. My nodes on my neck are hating it. Sometimes I wonder if there is a AUTOIMMUNE element to this disease. My doctor thinks there is.

I am with you Strype; I think it is a documented fact. then again I was trying to think yesterday and nothing happened!!?? Aint Iron grand. I have noticed as of late, that when my sat is too high, all DJD/Arthritis.... is enflamed easier and to a greater extent with the pain. I can still get into a Hot Bath, and I do find some relief from that.

Know what you mean Strype...My dr is sending me to a infectious doctor because every time I turn around I have a major infection.

It is weird this past year was the worst as far as pain goes. Thought once I my iron levels were down I'd feel better but I don't. With every phlebotomy I get I feel worse.

Doctors seem to think once you're deironed all is great, but it seems thats when a lot more problems begin...Just my observations..
