I don't remember the exact number without looking it up, but it seems to me that it was 470-ish. My guess is mine was rather medium-ish from my doctor's references to it, but I was/am having profound fatigue issues that still have not been resolved. I suspect from another condition, which I'm currently following up on. My hemochromotosis has responded nicely to phlebotomies as far as lowering the ferritin levels.

When my liver doctor discovered the high ferritin level the 1st time it was 858 the 2nd time it wasover 1200 I had units of blood taking off both times. and it did the job of getting the level down!!!!

I don't remember what mine was to begin with. I do know that my iron level was over 300 and my TIBC was only 305.

Hello my first count was almost 2000. I first had the phlebotomy every two weeks but my H&H dropped so low I can only go once every three weeks now.This past June my ferritin level was just over 1200. I'm a patient at John's Hopkins in Baltimore MD.I wonder if anyone else the H&H problem like I do.

Hemo, mine didn't drop fast enough! Every week I went for a treatment it was higher for about three months. Eventually it started to come down, but it was still over the 33 they were using for a cut off when I was at the point where I could no longer function. I was in bed 6 days out of 7 then just had another treatment and went back to bed.

The good news is, I've gone for more than a year at a time without needing another phlebotomy. Bad news is, the damage hasn't stopped, let alone retreated as they felt it would.

04-06 mine was 6700,11-06was4500 since 2-07 been2700 to present,H&H stays 12-13 and 35-38,WBC 3.8,RBC-3.6,DR. wants to try EXJADE,has not been fun.around 70phl.
