Hemochromatosis is a hereditary disease characterized by improper processing by the body of dietary iron which causes iron to accumulate in a number of body tissues, eventually causing organ dysfunction. It is the main iron overload disorder. Hemochromatosis is notorious for having symptoms that are often initially misattributed to other diseases.
REALLY THAT IS HEAVY STUFF. I HAVE BEEN READING SO MUCH ON HH AND KIDNEY STONES AS OF LATE, I THINK I AM OVERLOADED WITH DIFF INFO...... YIKES!!
SEEMS MOST THE THINGS I EAT WITH OXALATES IN THEM, NUTS, POTATOES, ETC CAUSE KIDNEY STONES, THAT I HAVE BEEN PLAGUED WITH FOR ALMOST A YEAR...
ANYWHO I HOPE SOMEONE ELSE CAN BE OF MORE HELP.
OH WAIT A MINUTE IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH ANTIOXIDANTS. THOSE I KNOW ARE A GOOD THING.
SOME TYPES OF ANTI OXIDANTS HAVE ALLOT OF IRON IN THEM. IE CHERRIES, GREAT FOR ANTIOXIDANTS BUT TOTALLY LOADED WITH IRON....
PERHAPS IT HAS BEEN MENTIONED AS AN ALTERNATIVE SOURCE OF ANTIOXIDANTS??
