Hemochromatosis is a hereditary disease characterized by improper processing by the body of dietary iron which causes iron to accumulate in a number of body tissues, eventually causing organ dysfunction. It is the main iron overload disorder. Hemochromatosis is notorious for having symptoms that are often initially misattributed to other diseases.
Last blood donation they didn't have any bags or bottles so they used test tubes with an I-V needle. Didn't like it much. Has this or any other way of getting blood out of person ever happened. Next time I go in they may have a old country doc from the 18th century ready to do a bleeding.
Are you using a standard blood donation location or a doctor's office? Whichever, I would suggest finding a another location. They should require a prescription from your doctor to allow "XX" donations per month/weeks/quarter whichever so you can reach the doctor's goals for you quickly.
Unless you are located in a more remote area than me (Houston) I would not go back to the place that you described in your post,
