Hemochromatosis Support Group
Hemochromatosis is a hereditary disease characterized by improper processing by the body of dietary iron which causes iron to accumulate in a number of body tissues, eventually causing organ dysfunction. It is the main iron overload disorder. Hemochromatosis is notorious for having symptoms that are often initially misattributed to other diseases.
One other note, by the time I got to 50, my arthritis and atrial fibrillation was advanced and I was in a lot of discomfort. I had my other metals checked with 1 EDTA chelation and the urine analysis found my lead and other metals were also high. So, I went on weekly EDTA chelations and now after having 30 my health improvement has been miraculous. Iron is not the only metal that can seriously harm your body. But get the iron down first as it would interfere with the EDTA.
My pain in my joints & hip were elevated last weekend but have since eased a bit. Fatigue and brain fog are common visitors also.
I will ask my dr about chelation.
I go tomorrow for another phleb and then they are going to try bi-weekly phlebs. I've dropped 293.7 pts in 4 phlebs which puts me at 230.4! Still have a ways to go but its improving!
