Hemochromatosis Support Group
Hemochromatosis is a hereditary disease characterized by improper processing by the body of dietary iron which causes iron to accumulate in a number of body tissues, eventually causing organ dysfunction. It is the main iron overload disorder. Hemochromatosis is notorious for having symptoms that are often initially misattributed to other diseases.
I was diagnosed in October 2017 and it seems like my joints are getting steadily worse. Feet, knees and hips. This time last year I was on top of a ladder screwing fence boards in, climbing up in the back of our truck pitching pine needles. Now it hurst so bad to just stand up from the couch. Tried to get up in the truck yesterday and had a great deal of difficulty. I keep trying, every day, as am terrified that if I stop my body will freeze up in pain.
I join you with the same question - WHY???? What can we do to stop this.
