helping with the housework Community Group

this is a group for those of us who are challenged by getting things around the house done....come tell us what has to be done and get support to and motivation to get that task done and brag about what you have gotten done daily! It is hard for some of us to begin an easy chore but when we are doing them and get them done do you not feel like telling someone? I do!

redoing the cieling

we will be terming dowen the old cieling and putting up a new one ..but ..half of it needs ...thicker strapping ....it schould be fun ...we have all the tiles in boxes ..in the living room ...............I haven't been here in a while ......we haven't done anything ..new with the house ......we are putting in a gardin....I have been working on my flower beds .......best wishes to all ....God bless

oh my goodness....old ceilings.....I just cant do up things anymore...I painted the ceiling not long ago and I just cant look up that long....
glad your back...........and have fun while doing this....the gardening sounds good and will make the place perk up..........fun...............

Good for you...taking on the ceiling. How ambitious. Hope it stays fun without any hiccups :)

our basement at Moms needs new ceiling but that is major work...the old fiber tiles are falling down...they nail into these wooden rails along the joist of the ceiling.....to replace it the ceiling most likely will be made with plaster board or what is called dry wall....I have friend whose business is doing dry wall and I measured and he said the size falls into realm of his minimum of $1500 to come to do work.....this ceiling needs to be done as well as the basement water proofing and that means tearing out the old knotty pine walls and allowing the company doing the work to get to the concrete walls behind them....I am dead set against throwing away the knotty pine....I want to store it and then rebuild everything....which is time consuming and is probably going to be the project that the new owners tackle not us....we just reduce price of house....
