Heart Failure Support Group
Heart failure is a condition that can result from any structural or functional cardiac disorder that impairs the ability of the heart to fill with or pump a sufficient amount of blood throughout the body. It is often undiagnosed due to a lack of a universally agreed definition and difficulties in diagnosis, particularly when the condition is considered "mild."

Reading your post, it seems to me that is your first encounter with HF.
I am sorry that you have to join us, but relax... HF does not have cure (but transplant) but hopefully you will be able to work normally... you just need to learn to know your new situation.
The first thought that comes to mi mind is that if you have HF you should be properly medicated for it .. just lasix is not enough.
Of course if you have been 5 days in ER and lost 10pounds I assume that they tested your electrolytes before let you out.
The other point is that fast movements can be a problem, if properly medicated your BP will be low and you may easily suffer orthostatic low pressure.
So try to get a good cardiologist, a good workout routine, reduce or better suppress your salt intake and hopefully, you will start getting better.

Sounds as if you need to go to the gym and test yourself to determine exactly what you are capable of doing.
Esp. since your job is quite demanding - you need to know exactly how much you are capable of for your job.
You might also consider getting a thallium stress test to make sure that you not causing injury to the heart when you do stress to your limits.

I just joined the group this week and was diagnosed with HF in June (EF 15-20%). My biggest fear in the hospital was whether I would be able to work again. My executive director has been great! I was allowed to go to work just a couple of hours a day, then a little bit more, until I was back at full time. I am once again the person who runs (though not sprints ***yet) from building to building. I rested when the cardiologist said rest. Not everyone is so lucky, but God has blessed me. I am 49 and pulling for you! I am only 90%, but I take Q10 and exercise 5-6 days a week. I think both of those have helped. If you are a person of faith then these may be an encouragement to you: Numbers 24:19 (hang with me), Isaiah 41:8-10 (this one made me cry when a friend gave it to me. he knew Isaiah is my favorite book.), Isaiah 43:2 (if you still doubt or worry) Malachi 3:6. Said a prayer for you today.

Thanks to both of you for the encouragement.i am going to talk to my cardiologist and see what exercise program she thinks is best for me with now she wants me to walk at least 30 minutes a day which is not hard if I pace myself.I am also going to ask my boss if I can do some other jobs on our unit or at the hospital.
