Hi Im new to this form. Last friday I woke up having a pain in the middle of my back that went to my shoulders and left jaw then my chest on the left side.took some pain meds did'nt help so I waited till early morning went to the dr which he sent me to the er. They took some blood and a chest exray nothing really should up but was asked if I was every dx with CHF I said no and that was it. They did give me some good pain meds. I also had a fever and high blood pressure when I was there. I went and got a copy of my lab reports this is what it said.

In principle a value above 280 is indicative of HF. Your value could indicate a mild HF, but you should consider that this value can also be increased by other diseases like kidney problems and your back pain could also be produced by the kidneys, so I would say that it is not conclusive unless that you have other symptoms or test that indicate it.

Is there any follow-up testing planned?

An echocardiogram should show if CHF is a factor, but maybe they wouldn't do that unless there is more indication of it.

Be sure to include all symptoms when talking to the doctor.
