Periodic Testing

My mother goes to her Cardiologist this coming Friday. This is the first 3 month follow-up. What tests can we expect routinely to check her progress. We are blessed that her PCP is totally involved in her care and structures his treatments for her CHF...but I need to know if we will have more angiograms, constant bloodwork, etc. I hate to see her have another angio because it was so painful for her...the anti-anxiety did nothing for her. Thanks for any responses.

It will depends on the reason why she has HF and the symptoms that she has now.

The normal one is just a blood test to check that the medication has not produced any undesirable side effects.

Depending on how she's feeling and what other tests she had three months ago, she might have an echocardiogram (absolutely painless). If she already had all the goodies before such as nuclear stress test and cardiopulmonary stress test. she probably wouldn't have them againi before at least six months if not a year.
