Heart failure is a condition that can result from any structural or functional cardiac disorder that impairs the ability of the heart to fill with or pump a sufficient amount of blood throughout the body. It is often undiagnosed due to a lack of a universally agreed definition and difficulties in diagnosis, particularly when the condition is considered "mild."
Good morning to the group. New member and I need your feedback.
My husband is a CHF patient, diagnosed in May 2013. He had an ICD implanted in November 2013. He seems to be doing well for the most part, but I am becoming concerned. He often mentions his feet feeling cold all the time. They are not cold to touch, usually, but they feel cold to him. He always has socks and slippers/shoes on yet he still "feels" cold.
Is this a common experience for the group? Any advice on how to combat this as it is beginning to affect his sleep.

Blood flow helps regulate our body temperatures and most CHF patients also have flow issues. In my case my EF is 22 so it's no surprise for me.
So first I'd check it out with the doctor. If it does wind up being out of his control and just par for the course, you two will be doing battle over whether to put quilts on the bed at night or not. You can follow my wife's lead, she has a baseball bat on her side of the bed.

Thank you for your response. I suspected as much. Did a little more research and found that it is not an uncommon occurrence. It is nice to have the facts verified by personal experience.
The bat idea I will consider, although it is possible due to tremors I might knock myself out first. Perhaps a bedside first-aid kit might be appropriate just in case my aim is bad.
