Heart failure is a condition that can result from any structural or functional cardiac disorder that impairs the ability of the heart to fill with or pump a sufficient amount of blood throughout the body. It is often undiagnosed due to a lack of a universally agreed definition and difficulties in diagnosis, particularly when the condition is considered "mild."

Each person responds to the medicine differently. Your best bet is to ALWAYS follow your doctor's advice.
And, don't forget to weigh yourselves every day, Same Time, Same amount of Clothing, and after going to the bathroom...so 1st thing in the morning.
Keep track of your weight, and if you notice a 2-3 lb weight gain within a few days, this is water weight gain...notify your heart doc...call him, he may suggest you increase your Lasix for a few days, or come in to see him.
Don't let the swelling or breathing get bad before you seek help!
And of course, follow that low salt diet.
