I was scared yesterday and not feeling myself. My arm started hurting me and the pain didn't stop until I got home yesterday and took my insulin shot, I injected it into the arm that hurt. I have been feeling a strange pressure in my chest, I have edema in my legs and feet and I noticed a new blister had form on my left leg that had been better. I immediately took some aspirin. I didn't want to go to the hospital as I know they would just put me on a gurney and I would lie there for hours and I couldn't even get an aspirin from them. The best thing is to try to stay calm. Has anyone else had an experience like this?

Hi Donna,

Is the edema based on congestive heart failure? Did the aspirin make the pain subside? Have you had similar symptoms in the past or since the one you are speaking of?

Diabetes, sorry I have not experienced any sores as such. Have you been to a cardiologist regarding any cardiomyopahy?

Hope you are feeling better but you did not help me any with the little info provided, all the advice to go see your doctor ASAP.

I believe the edema is partly due to the congestive heart failure, rather a symptom of a poor circulatory system. One of the valves in my heart is too small so I have high blood pressure. The doctor told me that at this time I don't need an operation but may in the future. Aspirin works as a blood thinner, it has helped. I've heard that it can save your life if you are having a stroke. I take low dose aspirin and try to carry some with me. When I feel pressure I take 4 of them which is the equivelent of a regular aspirin. I have diabetes and the whole thing seems tied together.

I believe it helps to take the aspirin. I know I have taken it when I've had pain in the back or somewhere else that seems heart related. But I do follow up with my doc. You might want to follow up with your cardiologist, tell him what is going on.
