Last June my husband started having loss of breath issues. Fine one day then the next he would loose his breath for a few seconds then be ok. He had gone into a building that had a lot of cleaning solution fumes so we thought that was the cause. Went to our Dr. was treated for broncial infection, not better, went to a lung specialist not better. Finally went to a heart Dr. had a ECHO and then a die test. On 1/21/15 he had a valve replacement and 1 by-pass, plus the die test had made a big blood clot in his groin area that was removed.. Day after the surgery he spoke like his old self. Day after that he was seeing things, ankles swelling, and was to me not doing well. Nurses said it was all normal. He was released 6 days after surgery but started back with breathing issues.
Day after he came home I called the Surgens office, his ankles were really swollen and he was having a lot of breathing attacks. They didn't last long. Had him come into the office, X-Ray said his lungs were clear. The DR. said his heart was not in a correct rythem and set for him to go back into the hospital for tests. Took him downstairs in a wheel chair, got the Pick up, wheeled him out, he got into the truck had a loss of breath eposode. I honestly thought it was more anxioty then anything. He got out of the truck asked me to call an ambulence, I said we were just next door I could get him to the hospital quicker if he got into the truck and I drove him there. He said he couldn't get in, I held my arm around him and he shutter and died. The ER Doctor said he had a blood clot. I don't understand, anyone experience anything like this. I feel it is my fault, only if I had called the ambulence when he asked maybe they would have gotten there sooner. I miss him so much and had him get the surgery so I could have my husband back healthy again..
