dont't know what to do about work?

I am 63 and have had ef for about 15 years, seven years ago my ef dropped to 25 and I had a pacemaker defibultor put in. that helped and my ef went up to 30-35. My defilbutor has fire three times in the last five months, the last episode was from a heart attack while i was at my doctors office.  I have been very tired since, some days are good and some I don't even fill like getting out of bed.  My EF is now 15-20.  I have a very stressful high passed job and I can't decide if I need to go back to work or just call it quits and go on disablity.  Anyone have any input?

I'm afraid only you can decide whether it's time to call it a day and look to a new chapter in life. You are the only one who knows if you still have enough gas in the tank to go the extra miles. Assess the situation, look at all the factors and make the decision that is best for you. You might even consider something in between like a less stressful physical job more suited to your abilities.

after reading a post you did with someone else. I think I have made a decision on work. I to have a crt-d that paces my heart a 100%. The left side of my heart doesn't work due to a left bundle block which I quess resulted from my first heart attack 20 some years ago. Ove the past year, the dr office has called me and asked was I ok because my monitor was signaling them that my heart was going into v-tack and of course without the crt-d I wouldn't be here. I am going to do what extends my life, hopefully with continued exercise and my meds I will continue to get stronger, but I know my current job would only hurt me. The reason I had my last heart attack was because I was to "busy" at work to take the time to go to my dr when I knew I needed to. Thanks for your input and hope to chat again.

I too have Left Bundle Branch Block (LBBB) so I certainly understand what you are dealing with. I'm hopeful you will be one of the lucky ones who benefit from resynchronization therapy and can recover much of your heart function.

I can relate to the good days and bad. It's very confusing and frustrating at the same time. All I can say is you have to take care of number one and only you know your limits. Good luck and I hope you feel better.
