I did that last year and found it easier than I thought it would be since I am not very familiar with the net. I actually saved alot of money because I had the time to sit and compare prices, I looked for items that had free shipping so I did not spend any extra money on shipping, sent friends and family out of town straight to them. I even found a few places that gave gift wrapping for free. Good Luck on your holiday hunt! I am shopping along with you. :)

I too did all my shopping on line. What a blessing for us who can't or don't want to go out.

I bought almost all of my stuff online this year for one husband, two daughters with sons-in-law and two granddaughters. I like to go to the stores, but only for a short recreational trip to see the decorations, not for serious shopping.

Good idea to buy online. You can even buy gift certificates on line. It is great to avoid the crowds and have the merchandise sent right to your house.

What does shopping have to do with Heart Failure ? What kind of support group are you people anyway ? There are so many unanswered posts and you all are talking about shopping .

Gwen, shopping has a lot to do with heart failure. Those of us who have it need to conserve our energy. Giving each other ideas on how to do that is helpful. And what are you so crabby about?

Well Wolly, I posted a question here and was ignored. I thought this was a support group. I've been a member of DS for over a year now and I know how real support groups help , this group hasn't shown me that so far.

Gwenny, different groups are made of of different people who work and act and think differently. I postto the Depression support group, but we often seemingly go off on a tangent only to come back to the subject.

Hi august, Nice to meet you !! Here it is:

I just found out today that I have the same genetic defect in my heart that my 38 yr old daughter has. It was quite a surprise for me as I had a echocardiogram one year ago and my Dr. said I was fine. But today I was told that in rechecking the radiologist report he failed to inform me of this condition. I have a defect called Bicuspid Aortic Valve. It means that instead of my heart having the normal 3 cuspid valves, I only have two. Alot of people have this defect and go on to lead normal lives, some never even know they have it. My daughter was diagnosed in 2007 with it and has a heart aneurysm that is a side effect of the condition. She is under the care of a very good cardiologist but faces open heart surgery when it reaches a size of 4.5. Now it is a 4.2.



I don't have an aneurysm, but I have stenosis and regurgitation of the blood flow thru my heart. I am having another echocardiogram in January to check this status. Honestly I feel pretty good but I am so scared because of the fact I'm a caregiver.....who will take care of me if I need surgery ?

Anyone have experience with this ? I am 58 yrs old.....I was hoping to live a long life and now I'm not so sure I will.

Did it occur to you that in writing your post wherein you asked if anyone else had this problem, the answer might be that no one reading it had the problem? I believe it is a pretty rare condition. You aren't being ignored, but if you ask if anyone has the condition and no one does, you're not going to get any response. I'm sorry you're suffering this problem, but I have no information to give you. I have found the people on the Heart Failure suppport group to be very supportive and helpful in their responses.
