Heart failure is a condition that can result from any structural or functional cardiac disorder that impairs the ability of the heart to fill with or pump a sufficient amount of blood throughout the body. It is often undiagnosed due to a lack of a universally agreed definition and difficulties in diagnosis, particularly when the condition is considered "mild."
My Spouse was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in 2020. He was told he may need a heart transplant and then another DR at Mayo told him he did not. He is a chainsmoker and drinks 6-8 beers and evening. I can't get him to take care of himself. I've bought nicotine patches, cooked healthy and encouraged to walk with me. But he doesn't do anything. I watched my obese mother die of a heart attack.
He has had 1 heart attack already. Are there any other spouses out there in the same boat and how do you cope?

DS, I just have to say that if I did not love my friends here on DS I would be gone in a heart beat! I am at my wits end of losing posts! It seems like the Gateway thing seems to be a you problem.
