Heart attack is a serious, sudden heart condition usually characterized by varying degrees of chest pain or discomfort, weakness, sweating, nausea, vomiting, and arrhythmias, sometimes causing loss of consciousness. It occurs when the blood supply to a part of the heart is interrupted, causing death and scarring of the local heart tissue.
Okay, so I need some real information or some hope...or both. I had surgery 8 years ago to close a hole in my heart. I have been doing alright. I am a 51 year old woman, history of heart disease in brother and father. I have had some pinching in my chest which I thought was a pulled muscle. Went to the after hours clinic and had an EKG and she said it was somewhat normal, but the T-waves were negative...not sure what that is. So today I followed up with my family doctor. Another EKG showed the same thing, and I told him I have had a lot of heartburn for the past month too, and pain in my shoulder and neck, but I also have a bad back so I always thought the neck and shoulder pain was from that.
Tomorrow I have a stress test, but everything I read online points to some kind of heart problem and I am terrified. I still have some slight pinching and am lightheaded tonight, but that is not new either. I always suffer from lightheadedness.
Sorry I am rambling. I am anxious, a crying mess tonight, and just wonder if this is something to be very concerned about.

By now you probably have had your test. Unfortunately the normal procedure means you'll have to wait a few days to get any results until the Cardiologist has time to review the data and determine what's going on.
All I can tell you is that I know many people who've been through this, including my wife, only to find there was absolutely nothing wrong in spite of initial suspicions. I know it's tough but all you can do is go about your life and try not to worry until the results are available. Most often the wait is worse than the news.

they look at the results briefly before they let you leave. As RopoPop
said, youy dont get the full results for several days , but they wont even
let you go home from the test if they see something really dangerous.
