Heart attack is a serious, sudden heart condition usually characterized by varying degrees of chest pain or discomfort, weakness, sweating, nausea, vomiting, and arrhythmias, sometimes causing loss of consciousness. It occurs when the blood supply to a part of the heart is interrupted, causing death and scarring of the local heart tissue.

Hello my name is Theresa im 44 and at the end of January 2018 i was 43 and had a heart attack the put a stent in one of my clogged arteries. I have chest pains alot which scares me but i also have costochronditis (not sure if that is spelled correct) im always scared of having another heart attack so i thought id join the group to chat with ppl that have been through this

well first costochondritis can be painful but is not dangerous. You probably know it can be from a blow to the chest or just plain old stress. I don't know if that's the only chest pain you are having or if you are suffering from unstable angina, which I have and yes it can be unsettling. Let me suggest you ask your cardiologist about a prescription for nitroglycerin tablets. You pop one under your tongue and it causes the blood vessels to open up releaving the pain.

As far as a heart attack, you just had an overhaul so it is highly unlikely that you would have another one for a long time at soonest. Relax and try to move past this. If you are really stressing out, maybe you should see a professional to treat you with counseling and or medication.

I was wondering do you still feel bad? I had a severe heart attack February 2018. I coded and they brought me back. I now have 25 percent of my heart damaged or gone forever. 2 stints in the same vein or artery. Every day I have pain, I'm tired all the time. I have been to the er 5 times and had 2 stress tests done since. They say everything looks fine., but I just don't feel fine. I don't understand. I want to know if this is the new norm or how I should feel. I'm scared and frightened everyday.. Any advice would be helpful, but if you feel you need to be cruel don't bother i'm more then cruel to my own self and need no help in that area.

If you are still checking this site, I am leaving this message. The stent should have made you feel better and "will" be helpful for a period of time. I am sure the doctors discussed a cardiac device and maybe by now you have one. They will suggest most probably a pacemaker/ICD with a defibrillator. This will not only help you keep a steady pace, but provide you emergency help if you have a heart attack in the future. Talk to them, ask a lot of questions so your mind is at ease when you decide. I will say there are some people who choose not to have the defibrillator and just go with a basic pacemaker. You will have to decide this after you do all your research and discuss it with your doctor and anyone you know who has a device.
I have non ischemic cardiomyopathy and have a cardio resynchronization therapy pacemaker installed. The procedure was easy and I hardly realize it is there.
Also, I take C0Q-10 and Omega 3 fish oil twice a day. My doctor approves. Let me know if I can offer any more support. These are conditions we can live with if we follow instructions and take care of ourselves. God Bless.
