Heart Attack Support Group
Heart attack is a serious, sudden heart condition usually characterized by varying degrees of chest pain or discomfort, weakness, sweating, nausea, vomiting, and arrhythmias, sometimes causing loss of consciousness. It occurs when the blood supply to a part of the heart is interrupted, causing death and scarring of the local heart tissue.
From talking with a friend regarding Richie, he is back in the hospital. When he left the hospital he was stilling having pain, so the rehab center sent him back to the hospital. I haven't heard what is going on since then. Cassie had some problems with her BP and so her angioplasty has been postponed. Joe, who has been taking classes to take care of Richie, has been under a lot of stress and it may be taking a toll on him.
Hopefully we will get a better update in a few days. Let us keep them in our thoughts and prayers.
Pam
Let me start out by saying this. Did you ever see a movie where it traces the lives of various separate characters, then at some point all of their paths intersect in a way that seems completely unbelievable? Well, thats sort of what happened this weekend!
This past Friday and Saturday night, Cassie, Joe, and Richie (who all are from separate states) were all patients at the same hospital here in CT!!! Ill let them share the details of exactly what is/was going on, but Joe and Richie were there for cardiac issues (you already knew about Richie, from other posts, right?) and Cassie was there for another medical issue (though shes still pending additional cardiac assessment)! At one point, Cassie was on the 11th floor, Joe on the 10th, and Richie on the 9th. Cant you just see the scene in the movie where it cuts to an outside shot of the building, and you see them through each of the windows? Joe called me late Friday night to tell me of his and Cassies admissions, and he was chuckling quite a bit about the irony of the whole situation.
I saw them all there today. Cassie was discharged this afternoon, having made some progress, though shell continue to pursue treatment and further assessment as an outpatient. Joe was awaiting results from stress tests, and feeling somewhat better. Richie is hoping to be discharged this week to the Rehabilitation Center, if the doctors there can resolve the issue of why he is experiencing the extent of pain hes been contending with. Cassie was able to go from floor to floor with me, visiting both Joe and Richie. All three of them, Cassie, Richie and Joe, were quite exhausted from everything theyve been going through, but all were in good spirits, and especially- all of them feel bolstered by having each other and the rest of this group. So please (continue to) pray for all of them, and stay strong in your support.
I love you all- Richie, Cassie and Joe!!!
Phew! It sounds like that they're on the road to recovery and amen to that one. It was all extremely worrying and I pray for their continued recovery.
Thanking God as I type,
Alli
