Heart Attack Support Group
Heart attack is a serious, sudden heart condition usually characterized by varying degrees of chest pain or discomfort, weakness, sweating, nausea, vomiting, and arrhythmias, sometimes causing loss of consciousness. It occurs when the blood supply to a part of the heart is interrupted, causing death and scarring of the local heart tissue.
Hi all,
Just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks for having me.
Now a little about myself. The last 10yrs of my life have been hell to say the least. My wife and I cared for our 32yr old son who was a total quad due to a car accident. He passed away unexpectedly in 2012 and we just heart broken. To days later my wife went into full cardiac arrest. They were able to revive her, but she had suffered a stroke and minor brain damage. She is doing very well now, but needs help bathing ect. She uses a wheelchair or scooter to get around, and tries hard to be somewhat independent.In early 2013 I was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson's disease.and am being treated by a nero for that. Jan 3rd of this year I suffered a heart attack while out shoveling snow. Spent a week in the hospital after getting a little extra hardware. Told I have heart disease and permanent mussel damage caused from the heart attack. Now I suffer from Angina when exerting myself which can be very scary to me.
I'm beginning to think I should write a book lol. Hopefully all the bad things are behind us now, and we try to maintain a good outlook for a better tomorrow. Life is what we make of it. Thankfully we still have each other, and this has taught us what's important and what isn't.
I look forward to spending time here and getting to know you all.
I also belong to the Parkinson's group here and have made some good friends over the last year.

We want to grow old together and enjoy some of our old age with out being pushed around by staff members lol
