Heart Attack Support Group
Heart attack is a serious, sudden heart condition usually characterized by varying degrees of chest pain or discomfort, weakness, sweating, nausea, vomiting, and arrhythmias, sometimes causing loss of consciousness. It occurs when the blood supply to a part of the heart is interrupted, causing death and scarring of the local heart tissue.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I have not been in your shoes, but my suggestion is to ask your MD. An abnormal EKG does not necessarily mean there is something terribly wrong with your heart, but I would suggest you definitely follow up with your MD regardless of the results, good or bad. If good I would find out what caused the EKG to be abnormal. If bad, I would find out what is wrong and what the MD recommends.

There is no set rule for a bad EKG. There are a variety of issues that can or have in the past caused irratic results. As Ms. Pam indicted that it does not mean that there is something serious. However, there is no way of know for sure without further investigation. Thus the stress test.
A stress test will tell you and your physicians a great deal of information. And should there be something wrong serious or not the doctors will then know the best treatment for you continued heart health.
Though I have never had a stress test, and I am told that I would NOT survive one, I can only relate what information my doctor, her staff and other patients have indicated to me.
At this moment in time I would do my very best to turn it all over to GOD and allow GOD to bring you peace and strength for what lay ahead. I am sending you many blessings.
Follow the instructions of your doctors and be sure to ask ALL of the questions that you have and DO NOT think that it is trivial... You are your best friend when it comes to your health care, and you and your body are the only ones to know when or what your heart is experiencing.
With respect and prayers.

No doctor until a few years ago told me why I might have them.
For me this was an ER doctor and he thought it was that I had one of those slient heart attack. He also answer another question I had, which was how come I didn't know it happen? His answer to me was because you don't always know your having a heart attack that is the name, silent heart attack. Also he said it was on my Right side of my heart.
He said it won't hurt me. And I should probably carry a copy of the EKG so I can show other doctors they then can compair tests.
Since then I have carried a copy of the lastest EKG. I lost the last one I forgot to ask for it back.
Also I try to remember to ask questions they (doctors) don't always answer me. Like has my EKG change.
I think it hasn't or if it has it must of not been much.
I think the best sorce for you is to get your doctor to talk to you about it if he/she will. of course if they are anything like what I had then good luck.
I don't know anything about the heart.....it was hard for me to look things up at first. It's still hard for me a bit.
