Heart Attack Support Group
Heart attack is a serious, sudden heart condition usually characterized by varying degrees of chest pain or discomfort, weakness, sweating, nausea, vomiting, and arrhythmias, sometimes causing loss of consciousness. It occurs when the blood supply to a part of the heart is interrupted, causing death and scarring of the local heart tissue.
..... and he sounds well. Indeed, as well as can be expected. He thinks he's going to be there for another month and then be moved on. He still has the infection in his VAD and the doctors are trying to tackle that.
Please say prayers. He's a lovely man and needs all our wishes. What a lion he is!

Sue, Cassie and I went to see Richie yesterday and celebrated our collective birthdays with cake music and much fun. You are correct his spirits are extremely high and he appears keen on getting out of there and getting home. I also am excited to see him come home. They seem intent on getting him back on his feet despite the infection, but an infection he indeed has. As far as getting back in a month, that may be an optimistic hope. My hope also. But that you called him meant the world to him that all us here in the DS community admire his verve and courage and I am sure it adds to his positive attitude which in the past has, no doubt, inspired us all. I almost forgot. Sue presented Richie, Cassie and I with a photographic montage of our times together, for our Birthdays, when we the "Heart Friends" gathered in different locations over the past 2 years. It was very special and cements an important tenet that people who share similar extreme circumstances seem to band together, live as survivors and support each other through thick and thin. This is a blessing from above and an obvious example of "Agape Love".

The lady on the phone that answers first help me grately as well...but you givening me his name help a lot...I told the lady I was from here in DS part of his suport group and we go by different names here then in real life...any way they didn't have him listed ?? who knows why so she try transfering me it was a great she did that I got to the right nurse and she knew who I was talking about without to much to do...
there the phone rang and I got to speak to the man....yup Richie...
it felt like one of our Old Saturday calls, Richie sounded just like the Richie we all miss....a little bit of something in his voice but he sounded perfect to me....yes he did talk about how you were working for the apt and how you got the two bedroom for you both, how excited Richie is about that...yes he wants out of that place to start back his life..He talk about how he miss all of us...and just about everything we do here....and I bought up how I miss the Saturday calls I wish now I would of taken them more seriously and did more to call in more times...
oh well....I ask if he had seen Cassie and Sue...guess I got that answer twice so happy Birthday you all....hugs to all three of you!!!

So I am stil praying I told Richie for him and the rest of the group...
wish that all his wants will come true for him...he sounded good I told him and I miss his cooking ideas...said I was wishing he could find a plug hint hint to Joe....he needs an exstention cord to plug in his computer...all his plugs in his room are taken...then he can get on line he told me....so this is one big hint going out to you Joe!!!!
YOU been meant so much to him Joe...you been a a brother to him...he really cares a lot all you have done...he told me so.
