Heart attack is a serious, sudden heart condition usually characterized by varying degrees of chest pain or discomfort, weakness, sweating, nausea, vomiting, and arrhythmias, sometimes causing loss of consciousness. It occurs when the blood supply to a part of the heart is interrupted, causing death and scarring of the local heart tissue.
Hi All. I am coming up on a month of recovery from a HA. 1st diagonal artery to LAD, no measurable damage to heart muscle. I keep hearing all kinds of favourable talk about herbal remedies and supplements, especially cayenne pepper. My brother also gave me a book by titled "Left for Dead" by Dick Quinn. It was written in the late 70's or early 80's and in it he talks about being near death as a result of a HA and the ensuing bypass surgery. He attributes his eventual and rapid recovery to cayenne pepper. Does anyone have any experience or information on this topic. I am just curious. I hate taking any kind of medication and would welcome other alternatives.
Unfortunatey some drugs will be necessary forever. There is too much
evidence on the positive effects of beta blockers, statins , blood thinners , and Blood pressure meds to ignore. The object would be to minimize the dose through exercise and healthy diet. I take only 5mg
of Crestor because I was able to get my total cholesterol down to 95.
A lot of people who haven't had a HA have to take more.
I read your profile and wanted to mention that I have been challenged by depression since I was 19. It has cost me a number of jobs, hospitalized me, and at times made my life a living hell. It is probably responsible in part for the way I neglected my physical health. Like any affliction depression can be brought under control and your life can be restored to what it should be.
I get to add Wellbutrin , Buspar , and Klonopin for depression and anxiety to my cocktail of heart
meds, so I literally carry my drugs around in a shopping bag.I have always had the healthy lifestyle but a high stress career and bad genetics were my downfall.
