Heart Attack Support Group
Heart attack is a serious, sudden heart condition usually characterized by varying degrees of chest pain or discomfort, weakness, sweating, nausea, vomiting, and arrhythmias, sometimes causing loss of consciousness. It occurs when the blood supply to a part of the heart is interrupted, causing death and scarring of the local heart tissue.
You should read the earlier thread "Statin drugs and CoQ10"- it's got some helpful related information. You can find it by using the search mechanism above. Hope it helps!
I take 20mg of Crestor and I take Co-Q10. I've never had any problems with the Crestor, and my numbers are great. However, different meds affect everyone in different ways, so you just have to monitor how they affect you and then get with your MD to decide a course of action.

Resveratrol is something I started taking in the beginning and I even had my sister on it as well. That is like wine but better, in a sense.
Yes, Resveratrol is "relatively" natural (the extraction process is not that natural) but remember EVERYTHING, I repeat EVERYTHING that we eat, drink or respire HAS SIDE EFFECTS.
I remember more than 20 years ago reading that chickens respiring only pure oxygen develop cancer in a few days.
Pure distiled water (that normally you do not drink) will dissolve your teeth in a couple of years. Even normal tap or mineral water, it is not advisable to drink it in large quantities because, the less that it can do if you are healthy, is to take important minerals out of your body.
And yes Resveratrol is a good "natural" Antioxidant but interfere with one of the metabolic processes in the organism and therefore can increase the toxicity of statins. In addition to that , like most antioxidants has blood thinner properties, so if you go for any operation, even small like a dentist work, you should stop it a few days in advance. Also to prevent possible bleeding in your stomach, I would advise to take it after the meals.
As a general rule, I do not take anything until I find the list of possible side effects. And if I do not find them, I consider that it is a product that has not been properly investigated.
Also be VERY aware of plants and natural infusions, normally they give no problems to healthy people, but depending how damage your heart is ... you should be careful with the side effects. The big problem with plants is that they have hundred of active components and that you never know its concentration since it depends of growth conditions and harvesting.
