well i take a full strength asprin every morning ,the only problem i have because of it is when i get cut i bleed forever because my blood is so thin.And i bruise very easy other than that i guess it works

doug dose asprin really work dose it stop a heart attact from happening or perverent them from happening please let me know

I had my MI when I was 36. I had just gotten off a long flight from Australia. I told my hubby (now Ex) that I didn't 'feel right' and he said what's wrong, and I couldn't tell him. About 3 hrs later he puking, diarrhea started and the left arm pain. Here I am COMPLETELY Exhausted after traveling back.. had missed flight so was running with heavy carry luggage.. it was a mess. I show up at the walk-in clinic and tell them I believe I am having a heart attack (I was a trained medical assistant). Doc took my blood, 'wrote down' that I came back from Aussie two weeks ago? Anyway, he told me I had a gastrointestinal bug, to go home and drink plenty of fluids and he would call me. I INSISTED on an EKG, and he replied ok.. well the nurse did it, and it came up that I had a 'prior event' (Hey it was hours old by then I'm sure it was 10:30am at this point). They drew the blood and I went home, I needed to sleep, I was so tired. I asked my Ex to find me an aspirin, that there HAD to be some in the house. He found some expired by like a year, and I took it, and my arm pain was gone in 20 mins. I was asleep for about 15 mins, and the doc calls me. Kathleen how ya feeling? I'm sleeping. He says how's your arm pain, and I said GONE now that I took an expired aspirin. He said REALLY? I said yep, now i'm tryin to sleep, what's up. Well you were right, you did have a cardiac event. I said ok, well I'll see ya when I can get there, I need a nap first. (since I was blown off so nicely - I had left that clinic at 12:30 and he's calling at 1:40pn). He said Kathleen, if you are not here in 30 mins, I am sending an ambulance for you and I mean it. I said what's the hurry.. nobody was in a hurry before?! I said fine I'll get there. He said use the ER entrance and tell them your name, they'll get you started. So I GET there and they tell me to go all the way to the front of the hosp because admissions were over there. So I'm WALKING down this long hallway when they yell KATHLEEN from back where I came from and I turned and said yeah? We need you back here ... DOH! I said ok be right there.. they said oh no you don't wheelchair time. It was idiocy all the way round.

So now that I have probably bored you all to tears with my story.. I take a full 325mg aspirin a day, and I make sure it's enteric coated, so it doesn't hurt my stomach.

My uncle had a heart attack 2 nights ago and chewed a handful of aspirin whilst it was happening & the Dr. said it saved his life. He's now recovering from a quadruple bypass yesterday.

My 35 year old husband had a heart attack in december. He had sternal pain for 24 hours. He took about 8 baby aspirin about 12 hours into the pain. Don't know what kind of difference it made. Now he takes a full strength aspirin every day along with plavix since he has 2 drug coated stents.

that was quite a story my story was quite similar on the incompetence scale . The stories here are all great I find aspirin works well my dosage is low 81mg once per day .

When I went to Er they gave me an asprin right away. Some nitro under the tongue and oxgyen and then I was transported to the city hospital. Thing is I really did have any major pain. I suffered a near fatal heart attack 20 years ago and have taken an aspirin each and every day since with no side effects in addition to a heart healthy diet and exercise.

My husband takes 1 fulls strength asprin everyday and he has had no side effects at all. He even had to have blood tests done last week and had no bruising and there was hardly any bleeding afterwards!!!
